Thanks for the pcm file, but I must not have the newer format, couldn't open it. Got the dxf file though, Thanks, you are great at doing the vehicles. Is there anyway you can save the pcm's in an older version?

Yes, if I take the time to export like a dxf, the export now allows you to export as version 3.?? so older plasmacams can handle the file, but I usually just do dxf

pratt, I am using the basic design edge software......I very rarely use the auto trace that it has....I have never had much luck with it. What I do is import the picture and when the window opens up there is a box that says convert to vector....uncheck that and it wont convert the pic.....but....it will bring it into the software so you can do a manual trace on it....it is that simple. Just trace any outlines you want and then I do an offset of all the lines to create a double line and most times you can just link them to create a closed path and some times you will have to draw lines between to link the double lines, then you can smooth out any sharp points and flaws in the drawing by using the filet and paint brush. I hope things are a little clearer. I wish I could do a demo video, but I just dont have the capabilitys...........

I might also add that having the insight and artistic talent to choose the right lines to copy and how you manipulate those lines makes all the difference in the world. Sometimes less is more. A simple, elegant drawing is better than throwing all the detail in and making things cluttered. Like my Wife says, "with plasma art, you must strive to capture the essence of the thing not the thing itself".I must say, Brian, you certainly have a way of capturing those cars simply and elegantly!...........................Russ K.

Thankyou russ for your compliments. Mechanical things come easy for me to draw, I struggle a lot trying to do animals, people and such. Someday with a lot more practice people wont come out looking like mickymouse on crack.

Looked around and I think it could be a 1932 REO Looks Like a 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe Street Hot Rod

Check out the back corner of the small window. The Ford was rounded out and this one is almost square, like the Reo.
Perhaps a combo of parts that look close???

After seeing the image you sent I went looking and the 30/31 ford coupe looked very similar but the area under the rear side window. The belt line was different on the Ford, so I agree it seems not to be a Ford coupe.
No harm I have a 30 sedan body and pick-up cab in storage And a 34 Ford Fordor near complete as a street rod.

I have a 32 Chevy cut out hanging out in the shop and it looks just like it. My Dad told me that was the first year Chevy had that style louvers in the hood. When I cut it, I thought it was a model A and when good ole' Dad seen it he said NOPE, it's a Chevy.
