CLOCK NEEDED - help fast, for a good cause!!!
we are doing werk for a local family who is having their home rebuilt by Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
We are building 10 custom flower box's for the home & tonite at 8:30 the design producer asked if we could make a LARGE clock face for a round window right over the dinner table.
Anyone who has clock faces they could share with me for the show would be my hero.
I'm under the gun, & don't have time to design the clock face... Can't bring myself to say no, & let the family down.
To make this werk i'll need something useable in the next 48 hrs.
I knows its a lot to ask, in a small amount of time, so thanks in advance to all that can help, I will gladly post pics of it & give credit where its due.

Re: need help fast, for a good cause!!!
That looks to be a working clock, readable from the outside. Is that what they're looking for...or just a decorative piece? Whether it's a working clock or not makes a big difference. If it's not a working clock, would you even want to include the hands?...if you did, what time would it be set to?....I guess the time would be right twice a day! LOL Sorry for the questions but that's a "unique" request.

Re: need help fast, for a good cause!!!
Well, I just got the confidentiality agreement & have found out 10 mintues ago I can't reveal any info until the show airs.
I would like to say thanks to those who helped out, & that the design producers REALLY liked Gary's contribution
I guess you'll just have to wait until it airs to see which design was used.
Thanks again
Joshua

I am not sure if this will be anything close to what your looking for but it's different and adds to the selection of design work to choose from. It sure would be neat to see the sun coming through the clock at a morning breakfast though =). JH

Before you cut the clock out, make sure the "4" roman numeral is written as "IV" and not "IIII"

Re: need help fast, for a good cause!!!
Ran across this once for a guy that wanted IIII and I questioned it....he said it could be both ways.
Notice the one in the picture above is also IIII.
This is from Wikipedia.
Because there has been no standardization, there may be multiple ways of representing the same number in Roman numerals.[2] Historical and modern usage include the following examples:
9 as IX, 4 as IIII or IV (Forme of Cury, a manuscript from 1390)
90 as LXL, 83 as XXCIII, 78 as LXXIIX, 6 as IIIIX. [3]
5 as IIIII, eight as IIX, VV as 10[citation needed]
29 as XXVIIII, 44 as XLIIII (Gate numbers on the Colosseum)[2]
99 as XCIX (1524 German arithmetic textbook)[2]
1606 as MCCCCCCVI (inscription in Sant' Agnese fuori le Mura church in Rome) [2]
1910 as MDCCCCX (Admiralty Arch in London)
1954 as MCMLIV (Trailer for the movie The Last Time I Saw Paris)[4]

Re: need help fast, for a good cause!!!
Look what was on the local news, at 6 feet tall its hard to miss.
I also found out this will be the Christmas episode airs in december!!
Thanks Gary for the help with the design, with all we had to do there was no way I could have made such a nice design.
I also have to mention there was zero problems cutting the signtorch design.
I had to resize the image, convert to gcode, in 15 minutes of cad werk the file was ready to cut, which when your under the gun with no time for file problems or errors of any kind....... File reliability is what we needed & that's what Gary provided us.
Can't thank you enough Gary!!!

Thanks.

Re: CLOCK NEEDED - help fast, for a good cause!!!
We have a 5'x10' table
I spliced it together about the 80% mark & welded the two pieces together.
they overlapped one another by a few inches so once I got a perfect fitments I clamped them together, used a cut off wheel to cut through both pieces. this gave me a .040 gap so I could get a full penetration weld easily.
I would cut one section, tack weld then move on to the next & repeat until done.
this way the pieces fit to one another perfectly & tacking while the rest was still clamped I didn't have to refit anything.
once done tacking I clamped to the table finish welded, ground down, etc
