I exported from PC with the arcs/circles box unchecked and the polylines box checked and it seems to work.
I am still trying to learn how all this works, I hope this helps.

Hi All
Has anyone tried to cut this out yet? I tough I would try to cut it and when I converted to a cut file it went crazy lots of extra lines. I added a welcome sign to the bottom and had to brake and convert to get it to cut. Any feedback?

that last file appears to be a PCM file with a DXF extension...

I am using Autocad 2008 and the last one won't open. it says "Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.".

great picture!!!
I cleaned up a few extra lines & added radius's which reduced the file from 30,000+ to about 6,000 segments

original is on the right

I use a combination of Flexi & Bobcad primarily.
simple clean up things like in the corners of your original drawling where there is a bunch of segments making a radius, I'll change that in to a real radius.

A few problems with using a million straight lines to make a radius vs using a true arc (when possible) is that the machine has to make a million direction changes, which takes longer & usually ends up with less than nice corner. where as a true arc is on solid, consistent movement that can be more predictable which will give a better part in both accuracy/ cut quality & appearance.
Secondly it will greatly reduce the cut time of the part (on my machine anyhow) for example cutting 40 straight lines with a ton of direction changes will take 1 minute, where as cutting the same diameter with an arc will take 3 seconds & look better/ be more accurate.

A simple way to see the effects is to cut both the segmented line radius & the true arc on a piece of scrap & see if it werkz better for you as it does me.

generally on my table, as few segments as possible keeps the file size down which equals less table time, consumable cost, better cut quality & more accurate parts

DISCLAIMER time, theses are things I have found to be true on my machine, & they may not apply to all cnc plasma cutters on the market.
