Man that is awesome! I cut one out and having the my boys in class assemble it. Only have one question---What is the 4 little straight pieces used for?
We haven't come up with a good place to put them yet! haha
Thanks again for the design, can't wait to cook on it!

I believe the straight pieces/slats go under the charcoal tray.agteacher wrote:Only have one question---What is the 4 little straight pieces used for?

The flat pieces weld to the fire pan 2 on the side laying flat to hold it up and the other two go on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on the support pieces that way the pan can be pulled out for filling with charcoal and cleaning im glad everyone likes it and i'm working on modifications to put a gas burner in it ill share that when i get it working

One of my boys mentioned about putting a gas burner inside it. That will be interesting for sure!
Thanks again!

Re: Fajita cooker flat grill
here is our take on the grill, made a couple changes. What I don't think shows up in the pics is that we added a handle to the charcoal tray and added a couple "shelves" so the tray could be moved closer or further to the cooking surface. Thanks so much for the file, this was fun!

Here's one that shows the handle on the tray a little clearer...

Re: Fajita cooker flat grill
Idiot here.....I never learned how to create cuts with compound angles (if that's the correct tem). What's vexing me on this project is how you calculated the sides of the cooking surface and made them meet where you wanted? I would like to make a griddle for our grill with angled sides like the fajita cooker and would really like to learn how to create that geometry. Anybody have any suggestions?
