Have not learned how to draw yet, does anyone have any simple straight line test files lying around?

Do you have length/width in mind?
What software are you using?

Here's a file I used when I set up my machine, saved in svg and dxf formats.

To get your feet wet download Inkscape (free) many tutorials on the web, easy to use. When you have a shape you want to try save it as a DXF or SVG to a folder then pass it through SheetCam (read both file type) to create your g-code. After you see how things work the get a CAD program for other types of drawing (brackets, parts, with precise dimensions ). there are a few free ones (QCAD and others). Pick one and start to learn it don't jump around with different programs.
