Wait, yes I do. I give 3 ducks.
These ducks come with a condition though... that you consider joining the registry to be a bone marrow donor.
In the past it was a horrible ordeal but they have simplified the process now. Most bone marrow donors donate through blood now- it's just like giving blood but you take some pills a few days before to boost your blood counts beforehand.
I have leukemia and many of my online support group leukemia friends have been looking for a match. While I'm responding well to the chemo at the moment, there are a lot of people out there hoping the right person will register. Give them another few years with their kids, give a sick kid a chance to go to school and play baseball, give someone another year or decade.
Even if you can't join the registry yourself (there are age and health restrictions), share the link on your social media and ask your friends to check it out. In return you get 3 cool new duck files, get a chance to save a life, and get a chance to be awesome today. Who doesn't like being awesome, right?
So check out the links. Basically, they mail you a big Q-tip, you swab your cheek, sign a form, and send it back to them. If you match someone someone will be in contact and let you know how you can save a life.

Both links are for bone marrow registries. Pick one and check it out.

This is a great thing you are doing! Just getting the word out to people is wonderful. I've been a potential bone marrow donor for years and years now, unfortunately I must not match anyone. I so wanted to be able to do this.

Most people won't match anyone. Most looking for donors won't find a match. There are 10 points, markers, they look for. Perfect matches are incredibly rare but they can transplant with a decent match though the lower the match the better chance of rejection.
Thank you for registering, maadman. You may get the call one day. I have 3 online friends that started the search this week alone.

Re: I don't give a duck!
I think that it is great what you are doing. I am a cancer survivor of more than 30-years. I was in ICU for 3-weeks and during the first week the patient in the other bed had advanced bone marrow cancer and was moved to an isolated unit. As I look back I must say that the first 5-years of being in remission were some of the most difficult for me because of all the work place discrimination that I had to endure because people simply do not understand that cancer is not passed on like the flu. Either way you look at it Cancer Sucks... Keep up the good work of sharing good information. Best wishes to you.
