Beef Cuts File

Post by taberahkj »

Was wanting a beef cuts sign after someone else posted the pork cuts one. This is my first trace that I've done without the auto trace tools. I haven't cut it and I'm sure there are some letters that could be cleaned up a bit. Hopefully, as I figure out this software I can be more of a contributor to this forum and give back a little. I sure appreciate everyone else who gives so much!

I have a couple I can share. My pork cuts one was a little cooler than that in my opinion.. I have most of them converted to dxf but they still need all the bridges to make them cut out correctly. It won't let me upload them because they are too large. Shoot me an email to Jaked710@gmail.com and I'll send them to you. Only thing I would ask is if you take the time to bridge everything (which I haven't had time to do) you'd share it back with me afterwards!

I didn't know exactly where the brisket was, so I looked for a beef chart in GOOGLE. What a mess, none of the charts are the same as to where the different cuts start and stop and several had extra names stuck in places where the lines had been moved around. I did find the exact chart this file was made from, or at least one that looked the same. Some had the brisket just going from the back of the front leg around the front of the animal to the same place on the other side, BUT others had the brisket extending back past what would be the middle of the animal measured from front to back. I guess there is no standard etched in stone as to where the lines are drawn or even what to call each section. :D :D

Most people who will put this sign up as a decoration in their kitchen wouldn't know where the brisket was from anyway- it's just a neat looking sign for them.

Yep, they are all over the place on google images. I just picked the one that I liked the best and went with it. I think it would make more sense if the shank and brisket were switched on this image but that wouldn't be hard to do.

if you swapped the brisket and shank it would be more accurate according to the North American Meat Processors Association. I would leave the neck out as it is part of the chuck.

Interesting subject for a metal sign. Stating the obvious, I'm sure someone could sell these to local BBQ places with their name/logo incorporated.

Thanks
