Being HSS, I think the taper will kill that bit pretty quickly. I'm not sure what would be needed to cut out the nitrided taper...carbide?

sr guy, yes that may help, but you would probably need a magnetic drill press to make sure your not actually making the hole worse. The taper may not be significant enough to work about. I am going to add the hole in the test piece that I uploaded earlier for checking hole quality. The top can be cut out of 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" plate, so cut one test piece out of a similar thickness. Of course the thinner top will not be as robust as a lighter top.

Here is a toggle clamp that can be used with the fixture table. A 5/8" bolt is welded to the bottom of the clamp and can be secured to the table with washer and nut. I have not shown the pivot fasteners. You could weld 3/8" rod or bolt together with 3/8" bolts and lock nuts. All the parts are 1/4" mild steel. You could also cut some rubber hose to slide over the handle for comfort. With these basic files you should be able to scale up/down or modify to suit your needs. I have used these basic profiles hundreds of times over years of fixture building.

Here is the next style of clamp for the fixture table. This "push" style can be very versatile. The parts can be modified to suit your needs. I don't know if the pictures are self explanatory. If more information is needed to assemble any of these accessories, just let me know.

Has anyone cut these on plasma. I have a plasma cam. I only have 311 software. I cut these and the tabs were to small. It was cutting from inside. Anyone have any luck?

Vanquish, what part are you cutting? Is the slot too small or the tab too large to fit together?

I thought I had converted three sets of the drawings to size and shapes that would work for me but anything I added or changed does not connect to the existing lines, if I modify the existing lines it works but it is Very time consuming and they are hard to Join together and it shows up very quickly in sheetcam anyone tried and have success modifying? Unmodified they would cut as they are drawn very well.
