Jeep Hardtop Mountain Scene

Post by Hootville »

Folks,

Here is a Jeep file with mountain scene I just finished up....about 36" wide. Dropouts are shaded white in the photo below. I have not had a chance to cut it yet, and you will for sure want to check it....lots of tight lines and open cuts. I tried to get rid of most splines, but there are still a few in the tire treads and hoping they cut okay. As an option, I have a layer (its turned off) called "treads" which is a simplified version of the tire treads, but had only done it for the passenger side front....to lazy to finish the others  . Anyhow, let me know it cuts good, and feel free to post back any modified versions.

Thanks.

Well, finally back to my shop. Here is the Jeep scene in dxf format, sorry forgot the most important file when originally uploading this post. Anyhow, hope someone can make use of it. As mentioned in the beginning of the post I have not cut this yet, and am somewhat concerned about all the single cuts for added detail....it may be a bit too much. Repost any better versions or photos of cuts you might of made. Thanks for looking!

I spent some additional time on this to clean up the file as it had too many zero offset cut lines that were originally on there for detail. scaled up to cut 47" wide to hang in my shop. Started cutting it this weekend and my table bombed out so will have to try again after later. One could clean up further if you didn't want all the detail. Attached is the revised file.

Hmmmm...Vaguely familiar somehow....Oh yeah, I remember www.plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f=6& ... eep#p44392

"Folks,

Congratulations on all of your hard work. Matter of fact I did check it. Back in 2012. Scaled to 48" it comes out like this. Compliments of my friend Bobby.

Not seeking attention in any way here, but seriously...a whole thread and no mention where the centerpiece of your file came from?

Apparently being forthright is the hard part. Sure, I've found a neat file or two here that I have taken, modified a bit and re-posted. But when I did I was sure to give a tip of the hat to the person that devoted their time, thoughts, and ideas to the file I had taken to modify. Just seems like common decency to me.

Gents....you are obviously Right! I should of given Ben a shout-out for his original posting. Typically I would just post a remake back under the original post and make mention, but failed to do it in this case for whatever reason. My apologies to all!
