Incredible job. Is there consensus on what thickness material should be used if you were making this into a framed gate insert? Or panel insert?

If the design is used for decoration, the gauge of steel is up to you. Many people have dialed in their machines to do fine cuts at various sizes. Here's a thread that gives some examples for Hypertherm Powermax. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33172

Personally, I prefer the look and strength of 12GA - 16GA.

Poor thing didn't realize what a 48x33 wall hanging would 'really' look like. Took it into the bank where she works and drew a heck of a crowd.
