Bi Plane

Post by erichsmith »

Haven't seen this one on the thread yet. I bought the wooden model and used calipers to draw it out. This was before I knew you could actually get a trace program. I have cut out quite a few of these for my pilot buddies and they have been a huge hit at the local FBO.

I drew this for 1/8th but you can change the scale or slots to fit any gauge. I just had an abundance of 1/8th scraps that were just big enough to cut this out so that's what I did. I wouldn't go smaller than 16 just due to I like sturdy and some of the smaller parts will warp when you weld them if the material is too thin. But this is just my preference. Good luck and have fun.

Eric would you happen to have a picture of the finished project? I am first cutting mine out with .25" mdf to see if any need adjustments are in order. I have about 95% of the puzzle completed but the propeller assembly is stumping me.
I must be over thinking this as usual and if I were a bit more of a simple thinker this would go together like nothing. So if you can post one that would be great or if you have a link that I can check it out that would be great.

Once again thanks for the file.
