Trick or Treat stuff

Post by Capstone »

Totally off season, but for some, now's the time to make a to do list for Halloween. If this is somehow a repeat post, apologies.

It's a mashup of a door hanger or table display along with some pumpkin spears. I just tack some scrap strips of 16ga for the spikes. The spikes were coloring book freeware images I grabbed and cleaned up for cutting

Cool stuff! Any chance you can post it as a DXF?

sorry guys... I only work with .svg files in SheetCAM and when it comes to artsy stuff, I have yet to find a cleaner file type than .svg (scalable vector graphics) when it's time to create my cut paths for g-code in SheetCAM. The node count drops exponentially and speeds up import conversion by SheetCAM sometimes in minutes, not seconds. I simply don't go near .dxf anymore if I can help it. I know others use both and most uploads here are .dxf, but I invite you to try skipping .dxf files when using Inkscape and SheetCAM, it's so much faster and cleaner, it's like night and day.

....and I have to apologize - I converted it, but it was too big to attach, apparently. 1.2m, 0.2 too big.

I am too new to this to figure out how to make the dxf smaller - I just use what I make.

Just need to put it in a .zip file which will compress it.

Good thing Inkscape is free, I use it just to convert .svg to dxf as I work in Autocad and svg is not recognized.

Thanks Grez

The Door hanger is my creation from about 5 different images plus the lettering. The rest were pulled from kids online coloring book pages and revised for size and clean cuts. The pumpkin spears were nice give-aways last year for me since I didn't have enough stuff to buy a booth at any craft shows. I'm guessing they would do really well at Fall Craft shows.

Capstone,
I couldn't agree with you any more .dxf is a pain in the ass with all the zillion nodes and lines, .svg is the way to go, I use Corel Draw 7 and always .svg

We don't have any problems with DXF files in our Plasmacam program. We sure did when we had a Torchmate though.
