The "JEEP" Fire Pit

Post by Red Star »

Hi everyone. I'm new to the page and saying hello. Amazing forum and I love all the shares. I was reading through the Jeep fire pit and saw some people were having trouble with tabs so I modeled it up in Solidworks and found some problems. I fixed them up for you all and would like to share them with you. Thanks for sharing everyone.

What thickness did you draw this for?

Thank you for the replies. I kept the same thickness as the original and made the slots for 3/16" plate.

I had a customer ask for one to match his custom Jurassic Park YJ, so I figured I'd share the YJ face for anyone interested

I just overlaid a YJ face onto the original end piece and got rid of the rest to insure the tab locations and everything stayed correct..the finished product looks awesome

Red Star, I cut one of these today, based off your drawings. I need to make a few adjustments (think I'll open the slots up a bit, and make the pin holes larger), but it cut/looks great. Thank you!

Any chance a Plasmacam user can convert this one to DXF? I personally prefer the square lights. :)

So I may have the original of this file< New to the site so excuse the obvious question. I have the version with 2 additional pieces of the file must be for a pit that is not elevated the jeep end has no feet i would leave those out i'm guessing? Also i am using the hypertherm powermax 85 would you recomend a certain kerf with on this? or offsetting? Thanks for the files i cant wait to cut it by the way.
