Custom Chopper

Post by yeomansjon »

Here's a quick custom chopper i did up from a vector image I found on google. May be thin in some areas which i'm changing for my own purposes but figured i'd post the native file for those of you that have better control over fine cuts.

This is the cleaned up version, little less detail but may cut much better.

Well folks I guess no one has a chopper that opens up in corel draw without having hours of work connecting the nodes. We need to start posting what program the file is and if its cut ready. Thanks anyway..

Are you looking for a .cdr?

Most people here post .dxf files as they can be used by most plasma systems. They have to be imported into Corel, not opened in Corel. If you can't get this file to import into Corel, you need to check your version. Home and Student versions will not support DXF. Your Corel has to be green for DXF. If your icons are a lemony orange color, then you bought the wrong one.

As for connecting the nodes, some plasma systems use different formats than Corel/SheetCAM/Mach3. I think it's Plasmacams software but not sure on that one. Some files will be very broken up and you have to do some work to clean it up.

Nothing you download here or anywhere else will be cut ready for your table unless you make the file yourself or have it custom made for you. Your kerf width differs and you will experience burn through at different distances than other people. So once you download a file from this site, you have to resize it and check the spacing. Clean it up to your table's specifications and make it work for you.

I hope this covers some of your issues.

I'm just wondering if you've been doing this for 15 years, why not just make the chopper file you want? I often find it's quicker to make a file from scratch rather than taking the time to clean one up and make it cut ready for my table. I can easily have 3 hours into cleaning up someone elses file but it would only take me about 40 minutes to make a chopper file cut ready using a picture from the internet.

Opened up in Corel X7 just fine for me. 5 minutes cleanup and I can cut.
