It's best to remove mill scale if using hot rolled or polish to a shine and season like you would a cast iron skillet.

recon44095 . . .
Thanks for posting those files. I was excited to find this thread and 'quick' cut one out, but I too found that the tabs and slots were all off.
It looks like in your .dxf file you have some object lines and some toolpath lines. Any chance you could post a .dxf file for just the object lines? I'd like to tweak some things and create my own toolpaths in Sheetcam.

Thanks much,
Tom

Hello . . .
Does anyone have a finalized and correct .dxf file with all tabs/slots fixed and aligned? I know . . . I"m being lazy but wanted to cut one short order for a Christmas gift.
Thanks much

Anyone willing to post up corrected files? Was the problem with existing files the tabs disn’t Line up?or the tab holes were too thin?

Yes please. Please post your version with the drain holes. What thickness are you cutting it from? Are your notch holes fitting pretty snug?

Thank You .. That's what I did to the one we kept, then I decided to go with Stainless for the rest.. Since I was selling them, I felt better to go that way so didn't rust.. My Metal provider told me he couldn't get ant Stainless with a coating.. Do you have that problem?? Sorry, haven't been on here in a while.. I take the winters off :) Do you happen to have any knowledge on Laser Cutters? I'm thinking about buying a small/desktop one for doing small pieces.. thank you...linzy

I just cut one out of 3/16 steel. I used Recon's full 4x4 dxf from above.

How do you guys bend these sides? I figured it would bend by hand and that didnt work :)

Modified Recon's DXF file and resized one so that it would fit on a 19" press brake for the sides. (Harbor Freight 20 ton press, and Swag offroad finger brake). Cut entirely out of 3/16". Already sold 2 of these things. Thanks so much for the original post.
