I have been trying to get this image converted for a few hours with no luck. I have been trying it in inkscape but can not get a good trace that is not all squiggly. I need this to make some awards for my wifes students that she teaches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried but I just can not figure it out.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me out.

Re: Need help with a conversion
just made it from scratch from you wasn't that hard open solid edge insert the photo to document open 2d view expand image to size you want to draw and than trace over the jpeg lines in the image. once that's all complete delete pic from document than merge line intersections and tweak as needed. The file should be complete. took 30 minutes tops start to finish with this. Hope it helps

Re: Need help with a conversion
Good lord you guys are awesome!! I WILL figure out how to do this one day. I always end up with multiple jagged lines when I try to convert something. Even if I start with a nice clipart image Thank you guys soo much!

Re: Need help with a conversion
I find using the trace feature on inkscape isn't as good or as easy as just making the lines yourself. Either way you do it you will be editing the document. I have found it easier to do it like I said by tracing over the attached picture on solid edge and than clean up. Less start stop points and cleaner cuts is what I have experienced doing it that way.

Here is a hint when drawing a symmetrical piece like this, split it down the center vertically. Draw one half and get it so you like it then duplicate it and flip it horizontally then joint the two halves and you have a perfectly symmetrical piece.

Exactly what I did after I drew the whole piece I saw how uneven it was. So I did as you did. This is great advice for newbies61 Sunliner wrote:Here is a hint when drawing a symmetrical piece like this, split it down the center vertically.
