It's a good idea to know from which direction the vane will be primarily seen from.

When I get around to making vanes, I think I'll have a north and a south view, so that the direction indicators aren't backwards when the thing is up on the house or barn.

Well,,, somebody has to sit up at night and think about stuff like this!
