Texas A&M Fire pit

Post by Scheub »

Here is my first post on the forum of a file for a Texas A&M fire pit that I am making for a guy. Thought I would share, and feel free to change up the art work inside. 30" wide with 7" tall sides. Haven't started yet, but will add some pictures as I go.

Here are the updated dxf files and a finished fire pit other than some high temp paint. Hope someone could use it

Looks really neat, I like the footrest idea. Looks to be about 3/16" or is that 1/4"?

Thanks cbass, I used about 2/3 of a sheet of 3/16" plate. You should be able to cut it out using closer to 1/2 a sheet, as I had some user errors while cutting it out, and had to move around.

Getting ready to cut one of these for a customer. Are you using 1:1 or inches for sizing when importing into sheetcam. Looking at DXF it appears everything is drawn to scale and would be pretty easy to scale up using sizing to a 48" pit. Have you built a bigger one by scaling up???

I import into sheetcam using inches. Everything should be to scale, so I don't see why it wouldn't work scaling it up to 48". I haven't built any by scaling up. I typically end up just redrawing the pits based on customers' specifications.

I have a few newer pits that I will post today that you may like as well. They used square tubing legs, which I think look a little better than the cutting the plate legs, and square tubing for the boot rail.
