Correct Post for Mach3, LCTHC, and floating head

Post by Jeepn2 »

I'm slowly getting things worked out on my system but still having some issues with the thc. Running a Precision Plasma Patriot 4x8 using Mach3, Sheetcam, LCTHC, floating head, and CandCNC electronics. The thc does not seem to be working (not changing torch height) the arrows on the controls are moving up and down but mach is not responding. Do you guys think it is the post Mach3 plasma and is there a better one for my system?

There are a lot of CandCNC systems. You will need to provide a little more information. Since you mention Mach3, then we assume you have a Windows system and not the newer Linux system. Now how is the computer connected to the electronics? Parallel port or Ethernet?
From there you will need to list what version of Mach3, And you might tell us which post you are using.

The Mach3 plasma post would not be correct for a CandCNC system. You will need to use one of the CandCNC posts, and that will depend on which system you have.

If he really has the old LCTHC which Tom sold off, then it is a basic THC not DTHC. The company he sold the design to never fully paid I don't think and are now gone.

I do have the old LCTHC, running XP PRO, Gecko G540, connected thru parallel port, Mach3 Version R3.043.066, the post that seems to work the best is Mach3 plasma which is described as a generic plasma post for machines without THC. I am using the CandCNC provided profile for Mach using LCTHC-G540. I have seen several people posting that they are using the MP1000-THC will it work with my system?
Thanks for any and all suggestions

That would be my guess.. If you click on that one in sheetcam it will say for floating head as well... I believe it will work for ya but be ready when ya hit start if things go array, Also have you set your switch off set in sheet cam according to the manual?
