help on doing an edge start

I don't know how to set up an edge start.I would like to cut some thick steel but don't know how to set up an edge start in sheetcam.

Once you do it once youll remember. Nothing special you do in sheetcam other than have your 1st start lead in where the edge of the sheet is. Then simple start the program, see where the torch is, measure the offset from edge of sheet and rezero that offset from your initial x and y zero.

Yea, what he said. I don't do any measureing, I just draw up my cut so the edge is zero, then when I import it to my cutting program, I line my torch up on the edge of the material so the center of the torch is just a hair off the edge, the zero the DRO.

Does the pierce height stay the same or does it get set to the same as cut height since you're edge starting?
Or does it even matter?

When I edge start on 3/4, I started at my cut height. "No piercing, so no blowback." was my thought process. Worked well.
