SheetCam Lead In Issue

Post by tnbndr »

Never had this happen before so I never check for it. Look at S2 in the snapshot. SheetCam put the lead in for part two in the first piece cut.
Anyone else ever have this happen?

easy to fix. click the ''S'' icon and move the start point
i always reposition the start points to avoid knocking the torch off if the part tips up
you may need to spread the parts a bit to avoid cutting into the other part

leadins and leadouts are not supposed to cross tool paths. However if your tool paths are really close together SheetCam may not be able to detect a crossing. I guess that is what happened here.

Thanks, I will renest for future cuts.

Yes, easy to move but I usually don't check so I missed this and it cut the other piece. I don't usually change the start points unless I suspect an issue or have good reason to.
