PCM to DXF export problem

Post by AnotherDano »

I'm trying to export as a DXF and need help with the settings. My straight-line "T" comes out looking like a darned palm tree. Too much smoothing?

any pointers?

Dan

Edit; To remove that file. It's a TM problem and I don't want to cause any problems for the board.

I opened the pcm file and exported it to dxf then opened the dxf file and it worked just fine. Not sure if any of the settings affect the files that are exported but here are my settings on the path conversion tab in the pcam settings window:
Arc resolution: 100
Arc recognition tolerance: 0.002
Gap distance to jump: 0.001
Delete overlapping segments within: 0
Offset distance: 0.03
Gap at end of loop: 0
Pierce point lead in: 0.15
Automatically convert holes: checked

These settings are on my home computer and not my shop computer that I cut from but they worked ok. Hope this helps.

Exactly what I needed.

Thanks, Danny. It was the Arc recognition tolerance value that did the trick.

I owe ya one!
