Question on how to draw something

Post by agteacher »

My sister-in-law is wanting a Texas cut out for her gate. I will attach the picture she sent me. The problem I am having is making an "outlined" Texas. I made an "outlined" star, I figured out how to do that. I can not figure out how to make the Texas line like 2" thick. The overall size will fit inside a 36" circle.

I tried to copy it and put it inside, but when you shrink it, it doesn't match up.

Confused, thanks for you help!

I don't know that 2" is what is best. What thickness would ya'll suggest?

Well maybe I figured out the "hard" way to do it.

How does that look?

It turned out pretty good. I went ahead and cut it out.

looks good to me! :) To do this, I would draw the image and then use the "Contour" tool to make the image as wide as I needed it to be.

Gamelord enlighten me on where to find the contour in the Torchmate CAD. I can't find it, and I know there has to be an easier way to do what I did yesterday!

Sorry, the contour tool is in corel, not torchmate cad. I have Torchmate Cad as well, love my torchmate table but I find the cad program to be very limiting in its abilities which is why I use Corel to do all my drawings. Once the drawing is done, I then import it into Torchmate to draw my toolpaths and cut directions and cut orders. this process works best for me.

As for the contour tool in Corel, here is a step by step:
