AutoCAD-how to determine size of dxf file

Post by acm329 »

I'm extremely new to all of this. My question is if you have a dxf file selected where and how in the software do you determine the size the file is going to be cut. I have autocad 04 and Sheetcam.

I don't know Autocad, but I'd assume it's similar in other CAD programs. (I use Deltacad)

I usually use the dimension function (used to print a dim on the part) to measure how big it is. If it's not the right size, then scale the drawing until it's the size you want. (if it's double the size you want, scale it by .5, etc)

Whatever size it is in CAD, is the size it will be when you import it into Sheetcam.
