Diamond Plate

Postby john527 » Tue May 08, 2018 5:45 am

?? When cutting aluminum diamond plate 1/16", with plasmacam with advanced height control, do I do a test cut to calibrate like I would regular sheet stock?

I would. Make sure your settings account for the max thickness of the diamond areas, not just the edge of the plate.

Actually, I recommend cutting tread plate (aka diamond plate) with the bumps up, and at the book cut speed and height and voltage for the nominal thickness of the material (not the thickness at the bumps). The Plasmacam advanced height will rise and fall over the bumps very nicely, and you will get great cut quality. Jim Colt Hypertherm
