Successful SS cut!!!

Post by beebstaylor »

Hi all,

This is my first time posting and I am new to plasma cutting (within the last year). Still learning a lot. No problems or issues with this cutting. Have read many on threads on different subjects and they have helped ALOT so I thought I would post a successful cutting. This project is for a friend and he supplied the material and was a little apprehensive. This was my first time cutting SS and I am happy to say there was minimal dross on both top and bottom.

We have added some upgrades so I think that helped. We upgraded to Advanced Height Control and have invested in the Hypotherm 45xp. I went by the book settings. I cut this project out of 14ga SS. Not sure of the grade of SS as the friend supplied the material.

Hopefully the pics are coming through.

nice. good job.

I know that a local metalshop that does a tone of SS use pure nitrogen, not regular air. But that's because they do a lot of SS for pro-kitchens etc.
