Post by STEEL3470 »

ok i need a air drier, but dont know which one to get. need to run a powder coat gun and and the plasma cutter. budget is $1000.00.

i dont know which is a good brand. is the one on here any good. or do i buy a Ingersoll Rand. i am leaning towards a Refrigerated Air Dryer but have no idea.

input would be great what do you use or recomand if you were to buy it again

Graingers is always a good place to look. You need to specify a system that works with your airflow requirements in CFM at a particular pressure (psi).

I have a refrig air dryer. Awesome. Get a macair (made in USA) and don't look back. You will still need a small desiccant filter at point of use but it will go weeks before needing a recharge.

They sell them at the store right here on Plasma Spider.

There is another brand on ebay that is made in the USA also, prices are about the same.

For those of us that just can't turn away a deal another option to check out is Zoro as they are one of the Grainger affiliates along with Drillspot as well, but Zoro is the lowest of the three for pricing. As much as I've spent with Zoro in the last year I should have bought stock in the place. Grainger even put me back on their e-mail list this year and I haven't shopped there in years.

The current coupon deal 15% promo code at Zoro is "JUNE15" and runs until Monday the 22nd. I almost felt guilty when I gleaned as much as 50% discount from Grainger going with Zoro promo deals.
You marry into the PlasmaCam family and must accept the fact your software and hardware are proprietary. It's a for better or for worse engagement with overwhelming security. PlasmaCam controls the computer, table, hardware to their advantage IMO. :x

I have three Central Nematic Air Dryers and they all work great. I recommend getting one. I believe they came from Harbor Freight.

Don't overlook these setups. I've been using a a Van-Air tower for years.. Still on the first bag of pellets (18 years)I had many deals on refrigerated air dryers over the years, but could not ever see the reason to own one, when my Van-Air works so well.. 8-)
