Where theres a WILL theres a way

Post by CPK_Jim »

So I found this big fab table for sale that I wanted to buy. Problem was it is 18ft long, 5ft wide and weighs almost 2,000 lbs. how do i get it home.

So here is what I came up with, lol.

CPK_Jim,

Hey, let me tell you..........

Sometimes you just have to Get Er Done and Get Er Home.

I have found myself in the same position trying to figure out how to get something done just like that and once you get over how hard it may be you just set back and figure out what will work.

That looks like a great find if you ask me.....

Keep us informed on your project table :D

Great find, and the price was right. It was way cheaper then I could even think about building the same thing. Its all 2x3 1/4 wall tube and the plate on the top is 1/2" thick. Its just what the doctor ordered for my shop, i put the infloor radiant heat in, so i cant mount anything to the floor. This table is so heavy it cant be moved easily, which is what i needed to mount tools, like a vise to.

I have been putting something like reciever tubes a few places on the sides of it and am making mounts for the tools to be able to slide them into the receiver tubes. This way I can move or remove the tools easily. So far its working awesome.

When you get it all set up, post more pics. It's always good to see new ideas. :)

It looks completely safe to me, see how he used the kid for counter balance? Clever. This way there is not too much tongue load. I do that often on our forklift to keep it from tipping forward.

NEEDS MUST!
