Big cutters

Post by ColoradoWayne »

Anyone else notice all the big cutters popping up on Facebook and Groupon? What are your thoughts? Feels like a significant market shift to me.

What do you mean? Larger companies cutting lots of pieces? Or larger tables?

I'm referring to the larger companies reaching out nationally. I get Groupon notices every day, and every day there is at least one steel piece listed. These folks must be producing a log of product. I just can't imagine how they do it all. Sometimes (not a lot) the discounted price of a product is lower than my steel cost by itself for an equal size piece. This is "fairly" new to me with large vendors popping up on Facebook too.

The great Wall of china Mart is selling cut metal art for about $10 a pce.. Match that I dare ya.. The trouble with any market is when it gets over saturated margins drop and normally so do the small operators, the pie can only be cut into so many pcs before everyone starves. The flip side to the coin is there is now a lot better components / machines to chose from..
