Newbee downloading files?

Im new to all this, How do I down load files to cut ? When I down load file it wont open? Im running Inscape, Sheetcam and mach 3 on my wright 4x4 table.

It sounds like you are getting the .dxf file to download. (You can't open the .pcm files you find on here unless you have a plasmacam). In Sheetcam you "import" the .dxf file. Not entirely sure about Inkscape, but it's probably an import too. (That's instead of "open file"

SheetCam operates like most windows programs you click on "Import Drawing" and it opens up a folder on the disc. You may need to navigate to where you have stored the file, you also need to ID the type of file (DXF or SVG) it only displays one type at a time in that location. Click on the file you want to import, now for SVG it will give you a ration 1:25 you need to change it to 1:1 to match the original size. You can do a different ratio if you want to increase its size. Or you can click on custom and select what you want. SheetCam also give you the option of where to display it on the screen, lower left may be the most likely, just click to position the dot for location.
