We recently purchased a Baileigh 510 plasma table with a Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster torch. The setup process was relatively easy but when we try to do test cuts with the Baileigh built in *.CNC files, the torch head keeps colliding with the material. The initial height and pierce height seem to be set correctly. What we observe is that the torch first makes contact to set the pierce height, it then fires and starts to move in the XY directions and immediately drops. This creates contact with the material, sets off the collision alert and we are not sure why this is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We have been using AXIS routers up until now so this is our first go with a Baileigh machine.

Your Baileigh machine...if equipped with height control, will have a "voltage" setting. The voltage is proportional to height.....so you need to increase the arc voltage until the torch settles from pierce height to the correct physical cut height (per the Thermal Dynamics operators manual) for the material, thickness and process parameters you are cutting at. Higher voltage equals higher height, lower voltage moves the torch closer to the material. Too low, and torch will collide with the plate. Jim Colt Hypertherm.
