Anyone have a storefront / retail area?

Seems like a lot of folks do custom orders but do any of you have a store front or retail type location? Any pros / cons or ideas on that? Thanks

I have a booth in a near by Antique Mall. I don't make a killing out of it but do clear an average of $200 to $300 a month. The main reason I keep it is I get a lot of special orders from people seeing my work there. Just remember to keep a lot of business cards in your booth and a display of items they can customize like address signs and my biggest selling special order item is Monograms. Hope this helps. http://www.plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24710

I think if all you do is plasma cutting a retail location and the overhead of rent, insurance, staffing, advertising and utilities would far exceed what you could make extra. A retail location means people have to seek you out for you product and most people have no clue about custom metal designs. Just my take.
