Newb to CNC

I am new to the site and the CNC world. Bad Dog Metalworks recommended I search for some great stuff here.

I teach an adult welding program and I am looking for projects to make fabrication and welding more interesting than typical welding objectives. I don't have time to learn how to create drawings right now on top of all of my other daily responsibilities, so I figured joining this web site would save me enough time to justify the personal expense. From what I've seen I'm already pleased.

I'm using a Torchmate X 5' x 10' water table powered by a hypertherm powermax 105. Any and all advice is appreciated as I am relatively new to all of this.
