trouble getting the entry on correct side

Post by Abncraig »

I am using fastcam software but I ws wondering if someone can tell me why my software decides to cut out holes on the outside of the holes and not the inside. I change the entry position to anwhere on the outside but cant change it to internal entry. any Ideas? the file is just a fire pit I downloaded from here and tried to add some extra air holes to it.

Usually when this happens to me, I have a broken line somewhere on the outline of the part, so the cam software thinks the holes are actually an outside offset.

First pic. First off this thing is huge on my cad program
Second pic. My cad program is not recognizing the radius corners.
Third pic. This is what I see when I import to Sheetcam. The radius corners need to be deleted and redone.
Hope this helps

Looks like your CAD program is in millimeters. It's probably just an issue importing and exporting DXF files. You should be able to load the attached DXF file right into SheetCAM. Assuming you didn't make any changes to the original dimensions of the pieces, only added the slots?

Thanks. I know I am using millimetres. I was trying a different shape before and it was doing the same thing so I copy and pasted this one of a different design I had which cuts out correctly
