tried to order some 4' rails for my torchmate 2x2 and they no longer make them and won't make them for me.
Why has nobody with a larger table made them yet? They look pretty simple. A few dimple dies and be able to bend 1/8" (It may be thinner actually) and sell them? I need 2 side rails and I can order a drive screw from mcmaster carr and ta da! Done.

Longer screws will wobble giving you much slower speeds. That might be one of the reasons they bailed on the small tables as a growth machine. Take your flashcut hardware and strap it onto a bigger table built for performance from a company rather than from a shear profit standpoint.

They sold the 2x4 and 4x4 for years and I never heard of any issues.BTA Plasma wrote:Longer screws will wobble giving you much slower speeds. In due time I may upgrade just not sure which table I would go with or may build. But that's on the back burner. Just need some more cutting room. The velox lifter made me lose about 4-5" of travel on X and about 2-3" on Y

If you build your own these are things you take into consideration. With info like from BTA Plasma above and other research you can add things you want and leave out problems you learn about.

You could always design it your self and send it out to be cut and bent

Re: Why has nobody made TM rails?
I would steer clear of the lead screw design. It allowed for low build price (cheap components, no need for gear or belt reduction) but created cutting issues (most were unstable over about 150 ipm). Jim Colt

Still trying to determine what would be a good upgrade for itjimcolt wrote:I would steer clear of the lead screw design. It allowed for low build price (cheap components, no need for gear or belt reduction) but created cutting issues (most were unstable over about 150 ipm). Jim Colt
Any thoughts?
I would love the gear rack but not sure there is room to mount it
