Which CNC plasma, sub 40K range

Post by westtxrocket »

Hi guys,
We are looking for a CNC plasma table for our shop. We machine/fabricate at an aerospace company. We have been instructed that we need to gather multiple quotes before we can purchase.

We want a heavy duty table with preferably a hypertherm 105. We would like an engraver, water table, laser aiming if an option, and some other bells and whistles.

Right now we are looking at ezcut cnc, tacticalcnc (are these the same company? Every detail, including the software appears to be the same), trucut cnc, westcott plasma, and a few others. 20-35k is the range we prefer, but better tables/more options/etc would allow to spend more possibly. I am getting tired of searching random plasma companies to get quotes. If you had a 40k budget for a cnc plasma table (water table, not down draft) with lots of options, what table would you buy?

Thanks!

Here are some of the larger guys that have all been in business for a number of years that install Hypertherm plasma cutters on their cnc machines:

1. Plasmacam (you have to assemble, you have to design and fabricate a fume control....excellent easy to learn and use software, relatively lightweight construction, servo drives)

2. Arclight Dynamics (turnkey machines, uncrate, make connections and cut....a variety of models, excellent design, even better after sale support)

3. Dynatorch. Turnkey, excellent software, servo drives, have tables in "entry level as well as in light industrial (heavier duty) models.

4. EZCut CNC Turnkey, a little pricier, but built by a major high end industrial cnc manufacturer.

5. Shop Sabre. A variety of models, Turnkey.

6. StarLabCNC Turnkey.

7. TruCut CNC

8. Tracker CNC

9. LDR Motion Systems

Some of the newer players with what appear to be well designed systems:

JD Squared, Westcott Plasma, SwiftCut USA, IPlasmaCNC

There are a few more.....these seem to be the largest companies that would likely fit your needs the best. I suggest sticking with the Turnkey machines and choose the features you need, review the software. Don't buy solely based on lowest price! Jim Colt

Maybe look at Koike Aronson for some of their lower end stuff.. Might be a bit higher $$$, but worth checking out..(IMO)
