G00 Random Motor Lockup?

Post by IndustrialRec »

Hey guys, setting up our touch off IHS and it seems to do fine but will at the end of a cut (randomly) make a motor locking noise when given the G00 code and not raise up before moving to the next pierce location, which in turn cause major IHS issues at the next location. Thanks to all the help in the forum we have managed to get our table up and running and now we're just working out a few kinks. Hopefully this is another one you guys can help us solve! Thanks in advance

That sound is the sound of a motor stall (trying to move it faster than it has torque to do so). It the dreaded "lost steps"
G00 means "Go full speed"
reduce you motor tuning on Z for max velocity by 20% and see if it goes away.

Thanks! We had a feeling that might have been the issue so we tried that and seems to have worked. For now at least.....haha
