Would love to go, it sounds like a good show although I think I've heard that Chicago is the big main show. I'll be at SEMA 2 weeks before, so two trips to Vegas is too much for me.

I'll be at both the Sema and the Fabtech shows in the Hypertherm booth....stop by and say hello! The Vegas show will be bigger than the last one in Atlanta. I will also be at the Conexpo (construction) show in January in Vegas. Might as well rent an apartment!

I'd love to go to Fabtech. Looks like first time attendees are admitted free. Now I just have to convince my wife it's worthwhile.

I would really appreciate anyone that's gone in the past to share with us how they got some real value out of this show in the past sharing their experience!

If your in the market for a new piece of equipment or tooling this the only place your going to be able to go hands on with the equipment and compare brands and talk to the experts.

I think if your in the fabrication business or even if it's a hobby this show is amazing. I have not been able to attend since it was in Vegas last so I missed the last 2 years, but can not wait for this one.

Where else can you go see lasers , plasmas, water jets , iron workers and nearly every other fab tool under power cutting and fabbing under one roof at the same time.

I have made several equipment purchases at the show and it has helped me narrow down future ones. It's a great show. And there are experts like Jim Colt on hand so you can pick there brains and get expert advice in person.

Highly recommend it. If for no other reason consider it a vacation, walk the show floor until your feet fall off while drooling then if you still have energy enjoy the night life of Vegas.

Fabtech is in Chicago every other year...then rotates to major cities like Atlanta, Dallas, Vegas, Cleveland. Done right, Vegas is one of the lowest cost places to stay and fly to. Flights are plentiful and cheap.....hotels and meals are cheap if you stay a block or two off the Strip. Transportation is cheap via taxi's and monorail to the convention center, airport, etc.

I think this will be my 33rd or 34th straight year at Fabtech....it is a great show for industrial metal fabricating equipment. Jim Colt

Anyone from Vegas (or somewhere in the USA) want to lend the wife and I a room for a few nights while SEMA and Fabtech are on? So badly want to go to both of these! But its a slightly longer hike from Melbourne to Vegas than anywhere you guys are.

I'll be attending, as I live 100 miles to the North. Am looking forward to looking at new plasma tables (I bought mine used), laser tables, and perhaps a break and/or a shear.

Jim - I'll make sure I stop by, as although you probably don't realize it, your info that you so readily share on these sites is some of the reason I am still enjoying my table. Thanks!

My favorite hotel in Vegas is the Signature at MGM. Good rates, most every room has whirlpool that feels amazing on sore feet after a day of walking an expo, and its a short walk from room to the monorail station to get to convention center or Sands Expo ( I usually go to SHOT). The mono rail is a nice cheap way to get around, so long as you buy a multi day pass. I still wish they'd extend it to the airport, but I dont think the cab union will let them.

I've been to IMTS in chicago a couple times and it is huge, I should really go to Fabtech there next year to check it out. Imts always impress me as you can see usually see a gantry style milling machine big enough to park a semi truck on, powered up and moving. Just amazes me they go through that much expense to put that up for a week show then tear down again.
