Cut ready alphabet

Post by kdahep »

I had to upgrade to a new computer and I lost the file for the CNC alphabet that was posted a couple of years back. Would anyone have the link for this?

Thank you

Hi. Found these in the search box. Not sure if they're the ones you need.

What are you "opening" them in? Some programs need to have them improted into. All of the files in this post open great in MasterCam. :D

What about truetype or PS fonts? are there tested fonts in those formats that are ready to cut? Also, is there a term that is useful for finding fonts on font sites when searching? Like "fonts with supports"? Typically "stencil" is a useful keyword. But I find most of those to be strongly styled as stencils as opposed to artistically created to look like average fonts but have supports so they can be used as stencils.

Thanks for the recommendation. I checked out the software and it outputs to dxf or g-code. I'd really like it to output a new truetype or ps font, so I sent the author a note with the recommendation. I'd prefer to have the font include the aperture so I can work with it directly in illustrator and not have to go through a conversion each time or deal with dxf letters to move around and adjust.

Might want to get a free copy of DeskEngrave. It can take fonts and create Gcode or DXFs for you. Than way you have almost any font you can find right at your fingertip. Pick the font set teh scale type in the words( straight or curved) and save to file.

It works very well here, (;-) TP
