What do you find best for edge clean up inside the intricate bits?

Thanks Dave, someone called yesterday looking for some internal lettering from stainless, should be ok once I get the 30a parts.
I wasn't sure if he needed 304 or 306, do you think 304 would be ok for outside 15m inland from sea?

15 miles or 15meters ?

I couldn't really recommend a grade, it wasn't until i had made and sold three plaques for outdoor use that i realised i was using a grade of SS that rusted   316 I think it was, much cheaper than 304.

As for the air file - something like this???

Thanks, just been for new glasses today :)
The locating hole just into the surface worked great.

I have one of those, but Nitto also. I think the file is best, but looks like the flat blade would work on some minor work (Soft material) Unless that file supports a round shank type of file where it installs in the holder..

My mistake, it was grade 430 that was poor, 316 would indeed be ok for use near sea etc

Hi Sean

definitely 316 don't use anything else ;) it is the most expensive option, but trust me, from experience 304 etc will show rust spots over time :o
I did a whole set of railings and the customer wanted to reduce the cost of St/St and spec'd 304, then tried to blame me for using the wrong st/steel :x
soon sorted that one out.
316 is far better, welds better as well ;)

Hi Sean
just noticed in one your pictures looks like your using a # SR-26 TIG Torch, Have you tried using a SR-17 for the smaller stuff :?:
just wondering as I use the 17 nearly all the time with steel & st/steel ;)

I generally use a #9, and 20 water cooled torch.. If you want to keep the #17 /#26 size, then get some of these. I put them on my 17 series torch.. helps for gas coverage, and also uses less gas too.. you don't have to buy the whole kit either, Just the size you use..

No just been using the torch I got with the machine to be honest, I'm not that long getting back into tig, I'll look into that thanks, gas lens was something I need to get as well.

Thanks BrandX as well, that's me going to make the order now, cheers
