Help!! Corel to DXF

Post by shrimp90 »

I am having a hard time figuring out how to export or save my Corel drawings as a DXF file. It is not showing up when I go try and select the different formats that it shows.

I am running CorelDRAW and Corel Phot-Paint x 7 Student and Home Edition.

Thanks for the Help

Should be pretty easy if your version allows for dxf output.

Drop down the File menu and click on Export.

When the box shown below appears drop down the File of Type menu and select dxf.

You currently do not have access to download this file.

DXF is not showing up in the list of available export file types. Could it be that whatever add-on run the DXF exporting I just dont have?

Yes, it could be that the student version you are running does not have that feature.

If you contact Corel you may find they have an upgrade for you that will get you what you need.

Best of luck.

If you are stuck with DXF then consider using the DXFTool by Leonard Software (www.CorelDrawTools.com) The native Corel DXF export filter is wretched and breaks everything into hundreds of line segments on arcs and circles. I am pretty sure it will work with the student version and the Regular version is cheaper than upgrading CorelDraw. If you have another CAM program like SheetCAM you can export out of CorelDraw in SVG. Works well and preserves all of the arcs and circles intact. CorelDraw IMPORTS best in AI, EPS and CDR

Not that I've ever done this myself  but perchance you didn't scroll thru the list? It is quite long.

I went through the list.

I talked to Corel and since I have the Home and Student Version that it does not have the ability to export to DXF. Figured out though I can export as SVG and SheetCam will open it just fine.

Thanks for the help guys.

I save as SVG instead of DXF, It seems to give me a more accurate file.
