Help - What size is best to cut letters

i am having a proublem when I cut my letters out it seems that the cut is to big and I dont have a letter like a E or something what should be a stander size be to cut out letters?

There's no such thing as a standard size. Your torch cut has a certain width (kerf width). If this kerf width can do the cut without melting everything away then the size is fine. On the other hand if you have a 1.5mm slot that the torch has to run into then back out of, and your kerf with is about the same, you may have problems.

Cam software like Sheetcam show you the actual kerf width on the screen so you can see how the cut path is really going to work out. If everything is too fine you either have to scale up the drawing size or modify the drawing at the "tight spots".

SheetCam can help in other ways too. You can put you causer at the bottom on the letter look at the bottom of the screen and note its location now move it up and subtract that number and you get the vertical size. If its to big or little use new job to erase and when you reload it change the size (up or down) with the custom scaling until you get the size you want.

This chart does not have much for small letters for signs...but I refer to it all the time
when painting and designing larger signs....
