Mail box and memorial

Post by jeeplogic83 »

My wife was bugging me for 3 years to make a mail box so I finally make one to please the boss. now every time the mailman comes the mail flag pops up which is really helpful when its cold and snowy outside.
I also had a opportunity to make a memorial sign for Muskegon's MI last motorcycle officer who was a great father, friend and true outdoorsmen.

Great memorial and mail box.

I would like to build a mail box as well but the local kids would have it gone in no time (smashed)!

My mail box is about a mile from my house and I would never see it coming.

Great job on both :D

Make it out of 3/8" and it won't smash. ;)

Nice job!

An old Boss told me he had troubles with the same. He built a mailbox that if impacted on the box only would release a spring loaded steel pipe, swinging from the back to the front. I never saw it nor heard of it catching any 'predators'. Just thought I would plant that seed if anyone wanted to get creative! just keep in mind that kid down the road could accidently run into it on his bike!

very few bikers on our road the biggest problem is snow plows. If you drive down our road after a snow storm about 25% of the mail boxes are knocked down. This one is far enough back off the road it is completely clear and strong enough to withstand anything the snowplow can throw at it. I do feel sorry for the kid that tries to take it out with a bat though, but an aluminum bat would be a punishment all in its own.
