What size are they and what size of metal did you use?
And may ask all of you how much are you all selling this for?
I made some of this and some 3D butterflys and sold them for $30
but the metal did not cost me anything.(12g Scrap from work)

These were discovered among caveman drawings from the Messazoic Age. Insects were large back then. You're going to need a bigger table. Now you know why cavemen carried clubs!

Sounds WAY too cheap to me, even if you did get free steel. Think of the time cutting and assembly. Not to mention if any painting takes place.

Found this out at a local car show this weekend. Guys cutting detailed cars out at work using the bosses equipment, steel and everything else and selling a two foot wide silhouette for $5 to $10.

Scale it by .03937. Was most likely saved in metric.

It depends on the size for me. I charge in my shop $25.00 a square foot. $30.00 a square foot with color. So say the size is 18 x 14 $43.75 with out color. With color $52.50 I make just about every thing I cut out of 11ga.

I should say that I ues a formula when figuring out my price.

Spider

Post by larrycameron44 »

Excellent dragonfly cheers.
Now I know the spider was on here or pirate or some other site and I have a copy of 1 that doesn't quite look right. Pic attached.
Does anyone have a spider with 2mm slots about 12 gauge.....
The one I made I had to spend 3 hours re doing all the slots node by node, it was painful and still I managed to screw it up and had to grind each one  and it has a couple of bits on the head missing. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had the file for a while, but I bought mine for the licence. I did up 2 on Thursday last week and they both sold in 2 days. So I agree, excellent seller so far. Will need to build a few more now and see if they keep on selling. Also, mine went for $50. I reckon that $30 is a bit cheap when it comes to the work involved etc.
