Great job. What type of stud welder did you use? Or how did you fasten them?

Thank you everybody! I use 1/4" bolts for fasteners and 1.5" aluminum standoffs for the spacers. Looks like a lot of work but it really isn't! You gotta let the machine do all of the work! All I did was paint it and assemble it. This was my first big business sign. I showed it off at a local business showcase and got 6 orders for different businesses off of this one sign. I didn't know that I was going into the sign making business, just kind of fell right into it!

So did you just weld the head of the bolt to the back of the letters?

I weld the nut on the back of the letters. That way I can use button head bolts through the back. I need a low profile for the back because it will hang on a wall. It turns out real nice and clean, even the backside where the bolt heads are looks cool!

how do you know where to weld the nut to the letter? my first sign like that was a pain in the ass because i had no idea where to locate the studs on the letters. i should of cut the holes in the letters the same place as the backing plate and welded them in and ground them down. there has to be a better way?
