Sign for our property

Post by solomanb »

Happy New Year Everyone
My wife and I installed the sign I fabed over the holiday for our property on New Years day.The oval is 48 inches high and 63 inches in width.
Zodiac sign for my wife is a horse, which she has four and sign for me is the Tiger which I have none, lol.
This site has taught me a lot since I joined and enjoy reading all the topics, Thanks to all that contribute and share.

Looks nice. Hope it's not too windy there.

The sign appears to be hung on chains

Afternoon everyone,
The framework is 1.5 x 1.5 1/8 wall tube, The oval is 10 gauge mild, horses and tigers are 10 gauge attached to oval will standoff bolts. The four chains are 5/16, 100 proof about 8 inches each (leftovers) and have a turnbuckle on each to take out the slack (its snug). The base is made from 10 inch channel scraps I had left over. When Spring comes I will fill in the sides of the planter box on the base with t and g cedar and line it with plastic, the box is 18 high 24 wide and 72 wide. It will be filled with stone gravel and dirt and some flowers and such.
It gets windy here gusts up to 60 or 70 km an hour. even without the fill in the planter it remains upright.
Thanks for the comments, we get a few local ones as well.

Would love to see a close up of the sign. The tigers and horse heart look awesome.
