Monogram question

Post by michmetalman »

Does anyone out there do a lot of monogram work? I am wanting to make some things, but not sure where to start. I downloaded some monogram fonts, but parts of every letter are so thin, it would take forever to thicken up the lines on just one letter. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Depending on the font, if you have Corel you can use the contour tool to thicken up the letters pretty quickly.

I just posted all 26 letters in a monogram font on the dxf share page. Most are pretty thick and should cut nice...

Thank you! I did actually find some on Etsy, they cut real nice, but of course I'll give yours a try!

I'm not sure what program you use but I use inkscape and If your monogram seems to thin you can fatten it up by using the "outset" feature. once you finish you design go to the Path tab on the tool bar and drop down to Outset. Using is once is usually enough for me but each time you push it will continue to grow.

great tip Radnurse I love Inkscape and I am very happy to learn new functions that it has.
I did not see the change but by repeating it a few time the letter was growing thanks again :D
