Flaming Ford Logo.

Post by little blue choo »

I do think I'm starting to get the hang of finishing my projects. To out sell the competition your finish must POP!!! Cut this out over a week ago and it's been sitting on my paint table ever since. Today I decided to experiment with it and this is what I came up with. After it dried I carried it up front and stood it on my desk at Rick's Automotive and I sold 2 within an hour. Can't wait to see if I sell any tomorrow.

I probably sell them too cheep but just starting out and want to get my pieces out there for people to see. I sell them for $45.00. I have less than $6.00 in materials counting, (steel, dyes, clean coat, flap disc, electricity). $39.00 profit for less than 30 minutes work (or maybe PLAY), from start to finish. Not bad money for a hobby.

Did you use an airbrush to apply the dye and I assume the white is a second layer?

Yes radnurse68 I used a airbrush to paint the red and blue. It goes on really dull and I was thinking I hope this gets better when I apply the clear and it did! As soon as the clear hit it , it started to glow like neon! The white is a second layer behind which I cut out of very thin metal I had laying around.
