Memorial bench for family
I was enlisted to make one of my benches for a family to place at a school for their lost loved one. I think it turned out pretty nice!

I was looking at the picture and thinking the same thing. I am going to assume that is a 4'x8' sheet, I am curious as well, how do you bend the sheet along it's long axis and maintain an even radius, even across the slats that were cut out. I struggle with this on long pieces, especially since I like to work with 14g more than the 16g or 18g. I can swing it with the 18g, struggle with the 16g a little, and the 14g is simply a beeyotch and I always end up cursing and tweaking it and cursing some more. Bench looks awesome, I am sure they were proud to have it. I have been toying with the idea of making a custom break with a piece of 4" or 6" pipe as the top die, and folding the piece around it with another piece of 1" or 1.5" that can roll. Problem is that will probably be a 2 person operation, and since I am a 1 man shop, that means the wife or one of the kids has to come help, which usually causes some teeth gnashing and hand wringing. So, if you don't mind, share with us how you did it maybe I can pick up a new trick. Thanks for sharing the bench, and thanks in advance for your time on this.

Looks like a large metal brake was used.

Re: Memorial bench for family
yes you are correct...I work at a fab shop and I have my cutter at home...I cut the bench out of 12ga and the ends out of .3125. I take the main part of the bench and the arm rests to work with me and bend them using bump form. Seems to work best and easy to do if you have a large brake press. One day I hope to have my own brake and can just be a selfsufficient shop of my own...but alas money money money...hope you all have a great day!

Would you mind sharing this file? I had a family member pass a way & my mother has asked me to make something in her memory. This would be awesome if I can change the paw prints for butterfly's.
