CandCNC Control Box

Post by KIDTech »

When I am done for the day should I just shut the motors down on the control box using the front faceplate or should I flip the switch on the bottom of the box to kill the power? Any help is appreciated.

Press the red button on the faceplate. You'll see the yellow "dump" light come on for a few moments. When the yellow light goes out, and it's only the red light, then flip the switch.

Its basically in standby with the motor power off, If your area is prone to electrical storms I would power down completely. You need to power up the PC first then the main box. Surge protectors just stop arcing. They won't save electronics from even a moderate line surge.

I have an older system (PlazPak 4+) that we completely disconnect when not cutting. Once computers are shut down, we de-energize a two pole relay and ALL power breaks from all elements of the table. This includes a oxy/fuel console, I/O control box, CandCnc controller, computer, air solenoids, air cooler for compressor and fans.

We have been running this table for probably five years in a work environment (four to five hours a day) with ZERO issues.
